NORTH
AMERICA
LOS ANGELES AREA
Ackee Bamboo (Leimert Park) - Tasty Jamaican dishes offered right in the heart of
the Leimert Park neighborhood. Reasonably priced and tasty food with
daily specials (closed on Monday). I (Kwame Tumi) have been going almost since the first week it opened about 8
years ago as of Summer 2011 and if nothing else I have seen consistency, which says a lot for a literal 'mom and pop'
restaurant!!! I wish them continued success!!!
Adassa Island
Cafe (Leimert Park) - They serve a nice flavorful cup of coffee and offer
sandwiches and a variety of pastries and drinks (run by Ackee Bamboo's proprietors).

CJ's Cafe [2 locations] (L.A.) - A good American and/or Mexican breakfast spot, does the job on those groggy
and/or foggy weekend mornings based on past experience, hahaha.
Earlez Grill (L.A.) - Serving tasty hot dogs, burgers (yes even veggie items) and fresh Playas Punch and Lemonade.
The owner is a cool dude, who demonstrates on the daily what can be built by hardwork and a focused purpose. He gets
respect for delicious food and also for being actively involved in the community in which he conducts business!!!
Industry Cafe and Jazz (Culver City) - Serving Ethiopian food in a nice artistic environment, you may even get to enjoy
a live musical performance.
Simply Wholesome (Inglewood) - Wide array
of veggie food, meat patties, smoothies and desserts, with a full-scale health food market attached.
WASHINGTON DC/BALTIMORE/NORTHERN VIRGINIA AREA
Bukom Cafe (Adams Morgan neighborhood) - A cool restaurant and bar with an African vibe and live music on
the weekends. A well-stock bar which serves authentic Nigerian, Ghanaian
and other African dishes. It's an Adams Morgan institution!
Ghana Cafe (Adams Morgan neighborhood)

One of the first places to go if you want a taste of authentic Ghanaian food. One of the
first places I (Kwame Tumi) frequented back in the 1996 when I lived in D.C. Always a friendly face in this establishment
and full bellies hahaha. Enjoy the food!!!
