Massive Ten is a collective of 10 powerful MC’s representing the M.F.U hood (Mfuleni). Blessed
with an angelic voice of the young and gifted vocalist by the name of C-phe who makes an eleventh member of the Massive family.
Massive Ten was discovered in February of 2008, and the aim was to hustle, break stereotypes and make good music (bringing
back the essence of hip hop) and also representing the MFU hood to the fullest.
The main idea is to show the young
up and coming MC’s that you don’t need major labels to be able to put work out there and push a couple of units.
Its all about planning, strategizing and making connections with the right people and taking actions towards your plans. As
a result of the different backgrounds the clique is very diverse this makes their sound very fresh and unique from what has
been heard on the streets you can also check the click out their video on Youtube for proof to this. They are not only good
on wax, you must see their stage presence and how they rip mics stealing shows and setting a standard not many can ever reach.
These Mc’s are a collective of different ethnic groups which is why you’ll hear tracks ranging from English, Spaza
(Xhosa) and Tswana which comes out dope when mixed together. The crew confidently says this is what hip hop needs, unity not
segregate just because you spit in a different language.
Massive Ten has the whole package and is coming with
the freshest sound that Cape Town has yet to see. The crew consists of Major aka The Hustler, Shapzin, Bon Tame, Checkmate,
Virra, Dotcom, Kay-Otic, Mbazumkati, Tuboy Tulz, C-phe and Principles who’s also the crew’s producer. The crew’s
track called Take Over has been played on Bush radio’s show called the Headwarmerz. You can catch the crew ripping mics
at All NY’s in Gugulethu or you can listen to some of the crew’s tracks on www.myspace.com/tuboycultureshock and look out for their banging
mixtape called 7100 coming to the streets soon…Cape Town will never be same again!
